Volunteers with the nonprofit Oaks and Spokes used the AARP Bike Audit Tool Kit to assess the cycling safety of local streets, including Garner Road (as shown in this video). Similar efforts
elsewhere in the city led to the creation of both protected and painted bike lanes.
