New York registered voters ages 50 and older are significantly impacted by the prescription drug price issue: * 84% report that they have taken prescription drugs in the past two years or
live with someone who has. * 90% of those who report someone in the household has taken a prescription drug in the past two years also indicate medication is taken on a daily basis. * 24%
report not filling at least one prescription provided by their doctor in the past two years, and cost was cited most often as a factor. * 62% say they are concerned about the cost of their
medications. This survey was conducted by American Directions Research Group on behalf of AARP. The sample of 1,200 registered voters ages 50 and older was surveyed by telephone between
October 16, 2019, and November 5, 2019. The sample included an oversample of African Americans (n=200) and Hispanics/Latinos (n=200). The survey was conducted in English and Spanish. For
