Prior to 2020, Chatham County had a flourishing community center in the form of an old convenience store. The grant gave them the ability to livestream the community’s monthly storytelling

workshops and other events. This allowed them to expand their reach to older adults, former residents, military families and others unable to gather in person due to distances or the

COVID-19 pandemic.
