At a show with a sparse crowd Sunday night, my buddy Ryan said, “I don’t think this town is ready for music they don’t know.” He’s onto something. If it’s not that, it’s that Charlotte seems
to be a Thursday-Saturday music crowd, heavy on Friday/Saturday. More likely, it’s a mix of both. Yes, things can go late, but there is plenty of great music at plenty of great venues
before 10 or 11 p.m. during the week or on Sunday. As for “music they don’t know,” there is this wonderful thing called the Internet. And there’s YouTube. And Spotify. Apple Music. Pandora.
Outside of that, it’s okay to see something you’ve never heard before. In fact, oftentimes the most surprising nights are the best. Carry on.
