photographs from this unique part of the world with Valley locals.

"This exhibition is focused on ice and its many forms, from natural ice sculptures to spectacular glacier fronts - it’s truly beautiful,” Mr Hannan said.

The Northern Lights, waterfalls and wild seas also feature.

Mr Hannan is the patron and sponsor of one of Australia’s richest portrait prizes, The Shirley Hannan National Portrait Award.

He has also increased his support of the arts in the Bega Valley by sponsoring The Shirl, a new award for younger, emerging artists, which will be held in December at the Bega Valley

Regional Gallery.

Icy landscapes on exhibit at Tathra Cliff Place, 5 Beach St, Tathra, will be home to Mr Hannan’s Iceland exhibition from Sunday, November 22.

Bega Valley Regional Gallery curator Iain Dawson will launch the exhibition at 5.30pm that day.

“Peter’s photographs are a breathtaking, awe-inspiring documentation of the landscape and natural wonders of Iceland – I’ve never seen anything like them,” Mr Dawson said.

“Shirley Hannan was known for her attention to detail, her pursuit of aesthetic beauty and her commitment to her art practice.

“Peter has obviously inherited her keen eye for composition and colour – this visual travel essay is one of the most exciting bodies of work I’ve seen this year.”
