retrial in the new year. Mahek Bukhari, her mother Ansreen and four others facing murder charges have been released from custody after the collapse of their trial. The barristers for the six
defendants appeared before the trial judge at Leicester Crown Court on Wednesday, December 14. The session was held in private, with the barristers for Mahek and Ansreen Bukhari, Natasha
Akhtar, Mohammed Patel, Ammeer Jamal and Sanaf Gulammustafa appealing to Mr Justice Saini to release their clients on bail. Their applications for bail were all granted. The defendants have

originally being set for summertime. But earlier this month, the entire jury was discharged by Mr Justice Saini due to internal "irregularities" involving the jury members. A court
order bans any further reporting of what happened with the jury. All eight defendants had been facing a long wait of several months for the trial to start again from scratch - with no new
trial date or location of where it will happen yet set. The six are expected to remain out on bail until the hearing. All eight defendants face charges of murder and an alternative charge of
