£740 in vouchers. This includes £240 in supermarket vouchers for either Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsburys, Aldi, or Iceland, and £200 in energy vouchers. It also includes an essential item

with kids on free school meals. HEALTHY START FOOD HELP – WORTH £442 A YEAR The Healthy Start scheme in the UK offers financial support to pregnant women and families with children under


four, enabling them to buy nutritious food and milk through a prepaid card. Those who qualify receive a Healthy Start card which can be used in participating stores to purchase items such as


milk, fruit, vegetables, pulses, and infant formula. The benefit is loaded onto the card every four weeks. If you're receiving benefits like Universal Credit or Child Tax Credit, you


can apply online. HELP TO SAVE – £1,200 The Help to Save account is a savings account that can only be opened with the government-backed bank National Savings and Investments (NS&I).


Applications are currently open until April 2027. Anyone who is working and claiming Universal Credit and earning at least £1 a month is eligible. You can deposit between £1 and £50 into the


account each month and keep the account for up to four years. The account doesn't pay interest, but instead it pays a generous government bonus. If you continue to deposit into the


savings account, the government will reward a bonus of 50% of your highest balance at the two and four-year marks. If you save the maximum £50 per month, after two years you would have saved


£1,200 of your own money and would be eligible for the tax-free government bonus of £600. If you then carry on saving the maximum amount you will earn another government bonus of £600 at


the four-year mark. You can access your savings at any time via your online account or through the HMRC app. However it can take up to three working days to get any withdrawals. WATER BILL


HELP – WORTH £400 You could slash your water bill by hundreds through social tariffs or the WaterSure scheme. Water companies provide free water-saving gadgets and bill caps under the


WaterSure scheme for those on benefits. Anglian Water, for example, now offers a fixed WaterSure tariff of £310, saving hundreds a year. FREE PRESCRIPTIONS AND HEALTHCARE – UP TO £119 If


you’re on Universal Credit, you might be eligible for free NHS prescriptions, saving you £9.90 every time – that’s nearly £120 a year. DISCOUNTED BROADBAND AND MOBILE CONTRACTS – WORTH £370


If you’re on Universal Credit, social tariffs could save you a fortune. Some providers offer deals as low as £12.50 a month, slashing the average annual cost by £170. Mobile contracts are


also covered – total savings could hit £370 across both. COUNCIL TAX SUPPORT – UP TO £2,280 Council Tax Support varies by area, but if you’re on a low income or receiving Universal Credit,


you could save up to £2,280 a year. ENERGY BILL HELP – UP TO £2,000 The British Gas Energy Trust provides grants of up to £2,000 to individuals and families who are having difficulty paying


their energy bills. The trust does not give cash payments; instead, any approved grant is directly applied to the recipient's energy account. These grants can be used to clear existing


energy debts, says the British Gas Energy Trust. PREGNANCY GRANT – WORTH £500 A one-off payment of £500, known as a Sure Start Maternity Grant, is available to help with the costs associated


with having a child. If you reside in Scotland, you cannot apply for a Sure Start Maternity Grant but can apply for a Pregnancy and Baby Payment instead. SUPPORT WITH TRAVEL AND JOB


APPLICATIONS – WORTH £150 Claimants can get a Jobcentre Plus Travel Discount card, cutting public transport costs by 50% across the UK. There’s also the Flexible Support Fund, which can


cover costs like: * Travel to interviews * Job training (up to £150) * Uniforms, work tools, and childcare CHEAP GYM MEMBERSHIPS – WORTH £240 Some leisure centres offer Universal Credit


claimants gym memberships from as little as £5 a month. That’s a £20 saving every month or £240 a year. Better Leisure and Everyone Active are offering discounted gym memberships starting at


about £5 a month, which is significantly lower than the usual rate of £25. The specifics of these deals can vary depending on location, and may include off-peak access only. It says:
