Birmingham City Council was able to deploy all bin lorries available to the authority from its three waste depots this morning, May 30. We visited all three sites - located in Tyseley, Perry

Barr and Kings Norton - and saw the council's dustcarts leaving on time. Striking bin workers were nowhere to be seen at Holford Drive and Lifford Lane depots. READ MORE: STRIKING

BIRMINGHAM BINMEN MUST OBEY STRICT COURT ORDER OR RISK PRISON AS 'RULE OF SIX' ENFORCED Only five bin workers were spotted at the gates of Atlas bin depot in Kings Road. It comes

after the High Court backed the council's bid to stop pickets from blocking lorries from leaving the depots indefinitely. The court order also means pickets have been banned from

gathering in groups of more than six at the three sites. Striking binmen risk being in contempt of court if they fail to obey the order. Lorries were deployed on time and only five bin

workers gathered at Tyseley's depot. The few workers seen that were seen at the site were wearing hi-vis jackets to identify themselves as designated pickets - as also set out in the

court order. Unite, the union representing the striking binmen, has agreed to abide by the ruling. It previously said it reserved the right to go back to court to dispute the order in the

future. Issuing an update on bin collections today, a spokesperson for Birmingham City Council said: "All of our available waste wagons have been deployed from our three depots citywide

this morning. "Please put your household waste bin (grey lid) out on your scheduled day. "If not collected, please leave bins out and crews will attend ASAP."
