03 Jun 2025The Priory Queensway in Birmingham city centre (Image: Google ) Four fire crews rushed to tackle a blaze at a 'tall building' in Birmingham city centre.


It broke out at a building near The Priory Queensway and Exchange Square shortly after midnight this morning, Tuesday, June 3.


‌ West Midlands Fire Service urged people to avoid the area during the incident.

A spokesperson for the fire service wrote on social media platform X at 1.07am: "We have four crews in attendance at The Priory Queensway, Birmingham, where they have responded to a fire in


a tall building.

‌ "Please avoid the area where possible."


Fire control confirmed to BirminghamLive that the blaze had been extinguished but was unable to specify exactly where it had broken out.

"This was a fire at a building near Exchange Square and Priory Queensway.


"No casualties were reported. Crews had left the scene by 1.30am."
