CHANGES WILL BE MADE TO PRODUCTS IN ITS BAKERY AISLE 10:42, 31 May 2025 Tesco is introducing a new rule which will affect shoppers at stores across the UK. The supermarket is making changes

to products in its bakery aisle. More products will be discounted during evenings in a bid to tackle food waste. Some customers have spotted signs in stores informing them that loose bakery

products will be half price after the usual 7pm cut-off. On Facebook page Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, a post read: "Spotted this in my local Tesco Express - not sure if all

stores, but maybe useful to someone." A picture of croissants and chocolate twists on a shelf with the '7pm' label next to them was posted, alongside: "Excludes bread and

prevent good food from going to waste." Earlier this year, Tesco launched a trial to minimise food waste and hunger. Yellow sticker items in some Tesco Express stores could be scanned

through the checkouts for free after 9.30pm. Tesco said it would still give food to charities but staff would get priority access to yellow sticker items reduced earlier in the day. Leftover

food marked with the stickers will be available for customers to take home. A Tesco spokesperson previously said: "We are constantly looking for innovative new ways to reduce food

waste. Article continues below "In all our stores we offer unsold surplus food to charities and community groups, donating millions of meals each month. "This trial, in a small

number of our Express stores, will allow customers to take any remaining yellow stickered items for free at the end of the day, after they have first been offered to charities and
