next transfer window in January with sporting director Johan Lange keen to bolster the club’s recruitment department. Villa are on the lookout for a new senior scout “to make comprehensive
assessments on players who may be of interest” to the first-team group. The job spec reads: “You will regularly attend live games, both domestically and internationally and provide detailed
and evidence-based recommendations which are specific to the overall recruitment strategy of the club. “You will be an active member of the scouting team, contributing throughout the

report directly to ex-Leicester and Tottenham transfer chief Rob Mackenzie who joined the club as head of recruitment alongside Lange in the summer of 2020. Villa’s scouting network is
already huge while, last year, Frederik Leth and Arjav Trivedi joined from FC Copenhagen and FIFA respectively to drive Villa’s all-new ‘football research’ department in line with

possible with the aim of supporting the club to achieve its overarching objectives,” a Villa statement read. Villa’s new senior scout, meanwhile, “must have recent, demonstrable experience
of working in a senior scouting capacity at a Championship level (or above) club”. The job spec adds: “You must also have extensive knowledge of both domestic and European competitions which
will be specifically relevant to Aston Villa Football Club. You should be IT literate and have experience of using scouting systems such as ISF and Wyscout. “We are looking for someone with
a strong work ethic who is proactive and efficient at prioritising scouting activities in line with specific recruitment demands at any given point. You must be able to work independently
in a role which is not predominantly office based and be available to work flexibly and be willing to travel regularly at short notice in and outside of the UK.” Elsewhere, Villa have
recently hired Serra Tumay as head of nutrition. The Turkish-American, previously of UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) working as Olympic sports performance dietician, has
replaced Marcus Hannon. Villa, meanwhie, are also hoping to hire a soft tissue therapist to work with the club's first-team medical department while a new under-7s and under-8s
