Birmingham City academy product and former midfielder Reece Brown has returned to the EFL having secured a move to Crawley Town ahead of the new League Two season. Blues came up against

Crawley in League One last term but they were relegated back to the fourth tier after only a single year in the division. Brown, meanwhile, last spent time at Forest Green Rovers, working

under former Blues boss Steve Cotterill as they fell out of the EFL in 2024. They finished in the play-offs this past season but they were beaten in the semi-finals by Southend United, who

take on Oldham Athletic in the final this weekend. Dudley born Brown came through the Blues academy having joined the club as a boy in 2006. He made his first team debut at the age of 17

when handed the opportunity by Lee Clark and remained around the squad under successor Gary Rowett, while spending time out on loan at Notts County and Chesterfield. The midfielder made 20

first-team appearances in all for Blues before leaving the club upon the expiry of his contract in the summer of 2017, just as Harry Redknapp had dramatically led the club to survival on the

final day of the season at Bristol City. He signed, for the first time, for Forest Green. Brown played 94 times for the club in the space of two years in League Two and earned himself a

move back to the Championship with Huddersfield Town, who had just been relegated from the Premier League, but he never played for the Terriers and ended up on loan at Peterborough United

for three consecutive spells. He then returned to Forest Green in the summer of 2022 and spent two more years in Gloucestershire before leaving in 2024. He was without a club last year but

will now reunite with his former manager Scott Lindsay in Sussex. “I’m very happy to have joined the club, and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish in the upcoming season," Brown

said. "I am really happy to be working with Scott again, and I am hoping we can achieve great things together.” Lindsay himself added: "Reece is someone who I have previously

worked with during my time at Forest Green Rovers. He is an outstanding talent who is very comfortable with the ball at his feet, can drive forward and also pass really well. "He

completely fits into what we are trying to do here at Crawley. I feel his potential didn't reach the heights that it should have, so hopefully, Crawley can be a platform for him to

shine once again." WHAT DO YOU EXPECT BLUES TO ACHIEVE NEXT SEASON? TELL US HERE _Everyday, the BirminghamLive football desk strive to deliver all manner of news, features and
