THE FCDO HAS AMENDED ITS GUIDANCE AND SHARED "UPDATED INFORMATION ABOUT TAXI SAFETY ('SAFETY AND SECURITY' PAGE)." 07:04, 01 Jun 2025 The Foreign Office has been forced to amend travel rules for anyone going to Turkey. The FCDO has amended its guidance and shared "updated information about taxi safety ('Safety and security' page)." It warned: "Accepting lifts from drivers of unofficial taxis is highly risky. Find a registered taxi, note the registration number before entering and ensure the fare is metered. App-based taxis and pre-booked taxis are also widely available." Smoking is illegal on public transport and in all indoor workplaces and public places. Smoking is restricted in some outdoor areas where cultural, artistic, sports or entertainment activities are held, the FCDO adds.
