Slack and Peloton are among companies experiencing widespread outage this morning (Tuesday PM in the US), the cause of which hasn’t been detected. Amazon Web Services is suspected to be the
culprit; Down Detector, a site that tracks and reports service outages, showed a spike in reported issues affecting Amazon Web Services. Amazon Web Services experienced two widespread
outages in December, which left many people unable to access Netflix, Facbook, Disney+, PlayStation Network, Quickbooks, and even Doordash for hours at a time. AWS, however, are denying any
issues. “There are not any issues originating with AWS,” a spokesperson simply said, calling any complaints of AWS being down “inaccurate”. “We’re seeing signs of improvement,” Slack
reported to users, after it was knocked offline for a number of hours. “Please try reloading Slack, and if not a cache reset. We’re still monitoring the situation. We’ll confirm once this
issue is fully resolved.” Peloton cyclists were left to motivate themselves, after “service interruptions” plagued the company. “We are currently investigating an issue with Peloton
services,” a statement from the company said. “This may impact your ability to take classes or access pages on the web. We apologise for any impact this may have on your workout and
appreciate your patience.”
