in one night. Ben Bostock is alleged to have entered or tried to enter the properties, which were all in close proximity to each other in Bedlington, along with another male in the early


hours of May 13. The 23-year-old is also suspected of stealing a car from one of the houses and stealing items from inside a further two vehicles. South East Northumberland Magistrates'


Court heard that Bostock was accused of targeting homes in Seaton Avenue, Millbank Terrace and Millfield Court. Bostock, of no fixed abode, appeared in the dock in custody to face five


counts of attempted burglary of a dwelling, four of burglary of a dwelling, one of theft of a motor vehicle and two of theft from a motor vehicle. Because of the seriousness of the


allegations, no pleas were taken during the hearing and Bostock spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address. Article continues below Rehana Haque, prosecuting, said the case


must go to the crown court. She added: "All the matters are linked. We would say that all matters are sent to the crown court together. It involves nine burglaries, or attempted


burglaries, of homes in Bedlington." Steven Chambers, defending, and magistrates agreed. Bostock was remanded in custody to next appear at Newcastle Crown Court on June 18.
