A 15-YEAR-OLD BOY REMAINS IN HOSPITAL FOLLOWING THE COLLISION ON HIGH STREET WEST IN WALLSEND 13:19, 29 May 2025 A teenage boy remains in hospital after his e-scooter collided with a van on
a busy high street road. Emergency services were called to High Street West in Wallsend yesterday afternoon after reports that a 15-year-old had been injured in the collision. Ambulance
crews attended the scene and transported the teen to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition. The driver of the van remained at the scene and has been helping police with their
enquiries into the incident. Northumbria Police was alerted to the collision by the ambulance service and a road closure was put in place to allow for investigation work to take place. The
road has since reopened. A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Shortly after 4:15pm yesterday (Wednesday) police received a report via the ambulance service of a collision on High
Street West, Wallsend. It was reported that a van had struck an electric scooter. "Emergency services attended where it was found the rider of the scooter, a 15-year-old boy, had
sustained injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. He was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains in a stable condition. Article continues below "The driver of the vehicle
