BRIT AWARDS HOST JACK WHITEHALL MADE A JOKE ABOUT NEWCASTLE AS HE MENTIONED SAM FENDER ON STAGE AT THE O2 ARENA 20:58, 01 Mar 2025Updated 21:32, 01 Mar 2025 Jack Whitehall aimed a dig at the
people of Newcastle, just minutes into Saturday night's Brit Awards, as he mentioned Sam Fender on stage at London's O2 Arena. Having hosted the annual event in the past, comedian
Jack was back at the helm of the Brits 2025, as they went out live to the nation on ITV, right after the latest episode of Britain's Got Talent. The evening kicked off with a Squid
Games inspired intro that saw Jack appear alongside the likes of Sam Thompson and Richard Madeley, before American starlet Sabrina Carpenter kicked things off inside the arena, with a medley
of her hits Espresso and Bed Chem. It was then time for presenter Jack to take the stage for the first time and he wasted no time in aiming a few digs at those in attendance, including
Charli XCX, who he accused of 'refusing to perform' so she could get drunk and KSI, whose music he described as 'past its prime' in a cheeky nod to his energy drink of
the same name. He then said Coldplay were less adventurous than 'lemon and herb at Nandos', referring to them as 'public school Nickelback,' before he then turned his
attention to North Shields music icon Sam, who was in attendance at the Brits to perform and hopefully pick up an award or two, just a day after scoring his third number 1 album with People
Watching, which became 2025's fastest selling album with sales of over 107,000 in its first week. Clocking Sam in the audience, Jack said he was the man 'who put more smiles on
Geordie faces than a Turkish dentist.' Sam clearly saw the funny side, as he was seen chuckling at his table when the camera cut to him moments later. Article continues below Sticking
with North East stars, Jack then moved to Jade Thirlwall, who he mentioned had ditched her old record label "wiping the smile off Simon Cowell's latest face. JOIN OUR WHATSAPP
