EATFLIX IS MOVIE NIGHT LIKE NO OTHER CURRENTLY PACKING OUT AFLIE'S BAR ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF NEWCASTLE 17:02, 19 Mar 2024Updated 17:10, 19 Mar 2024 Step aside Netflix as there's a

new sensation on the block that doesn't require any account and has got viewers whipped into a suitable frenzy. Say hello to Eatflix, the 5D immersive movie dining experience that has

become quite the box office smash in Newcastle. Eatflix is an event that doesn't just invite you to sit back and watch a film, no, this is a place where you basically get to eat and

drink what you see on screen, with the menu intricately devised so that the dishes and beverages are served when certain lines are uttered. Before I go any further, can we just appreciate

that that is a stroke of absolute genius by Alfie's?! The Argyle Street bar and popular student haunt have been welcoming packed audiences to their first few Eatflix sessions over the

last month, which have all been themed around Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. And the menu alone is a work of magic that would meet Professor McGonagall's approval and

send Valdermort into a fit of jealous rage. READ MORE: I was a Baja Beach Club regular and there really was no place quite like it GET ALL THE LATEST TV AND SHOWBIZ NEWS AND GOSSIP FROM

You're in luck as that is exactly what is being served up at Eatflix. While we all need little excuse to enjoy some classic Harry Potter cuts, there is no popcorn required and not an

Ice Blast in sight here, as the menu takes you through the film like a Hogwarts Express train full of eclectic delicacies. The menu kicked off with lightning bolt shaped nachos, as

Harry's trademark scar is first revealed, with the blend of refried beans, guacamole and feta setting the tone for a night that wasn't kind on the waistline but a frivolous feast

for the senses. The little touches like the house banners of Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff hanging in an archway and each table having its own candle immersed you fully

into the world of Hogwarts and the treats just kept on coming and coming. In the first hour alone there was the nachos, a very generous slab of Harry's birthday cake, a butter beer, a

mix up - complete with a wizard's collectors card - and a banquet of chicken tenders and wings, served with mustard mash and corn on the cob. And the food and drink did not stop there.

After a brief intermission to give everything a chance to digest, the calories were topped up again with the Troll Bogey shots (midori and advocaaat), a superbly presented Golden Snitch

(mushroom arancini accessorised with golden wings), a flame engulfed Dragon cocktail, a Devil's snare dessert (mint chocolate, chocolate ganache and mousse) and a cherry shot to round

things off. Eatflix is definitely not like a bottomless brunch, in that, there is absolutely no way, after consuming all of that food, that you'll be able to go onto dance the night

away somewhere. After tucking into everything on offer, I was far from match fit for a game of Quidditch and very much ready to prize my jeans off and slip into a food coma. Alfie's

have pulled out every single stop there is to pull out with Eatflix. The attention to detail is utterly fantastic. There isn't a single thing that they could have done to make the event

any more magical and on the money. All of the food, as well as looking the part, is so delicious and the drinks, with the shots served from a tray of dry ice, are as potent as they are

eye-catching. No magic wands required to save the day here as this is a work of culinary wizardry. Article continues below And the House Cup goes to....Alfies! _*FOR INFORMATION ON THE
