THERE WILL BE FOODBANK COLLECTIONS AT THE NEWCASTLE UNITED GROUND BEFORE SAM FENDER'S THREE DATES IN JUNE 17:03, 27 May 2025Updated 17:10, 27 May 2025 Newcastle Foodbank is hoping to
kick off summer with another boost to its funds from Sam Fender fans during the singer-songwriter's homecoming dates in June. The charity service, working to tackle hunger and reduce
poverty across the city, will be holding collections outside St James' Park before the singer-songwriter's three shows get under way there in June. And, following the boost to its
coffers through Fender's shows last time around, it is keeping fingers crossed that it scores another success. The charity - a regular presence at the Newcastle United ground on match
where football fans are regular donors - is supported by the Hypersonic Missiles star whose shows at the ground two years ago brought a whopping boost to its coffers. As previously reported,
the triple Brit Award-winner's double-date there in 2023, which saw more than 100,000 fans fill the stadium across the two nights, raised more than £3,000 to help its work. The North
Shields star had also previously visited the foodbank, meeting volunteers and helping to pack food parcels, and the charity says it is delighted to have his continued support. John McCorry,
Newcastle Foodbank's chief executive, said: "We are incredibly grateful for our connection with Sam and for this opportunity to raise awareness about the needs in our city. The
foodbank is always delighted to be associated with Sam and his music and have an opportunity to raise funds at what promises to be more memorable nights at St James’ Park to cherish."
As the eagerly-awaited dates approach, excitement amongst Fender's fans is rocketing. Tickets for the upcoming shows were snapped up early and a recent release of extra tickets sparked
another frenzied rush to buy them. There are however some plush VIP packages still available, if anyone has a spare £284-£520 that is. No doubt the crowds will be in for a treat when Fender,
who brought out third album People Watching earlier this year, takes to the stage. Recently, he was granted a Freedom of the Borough of North Tyneside honour by North Tyneside Council
which, as reported, is its highest accolade. The nomination read: “Sam Fender is more than just a musician - he is a cultural ambassador for North Tyneside. Article continues below JOIN OUR
