A SECLUDED BEACH OFF THE BEATEN TRACK IN NORTHUMBERLAND HAS BEEN EARMARKED AS A HIDDEN GEM FOR SUMMER 2025 13:18, 27 May 2025Updated 16:24, 27 May 2025 It's not one of the area's
best known stretches of sand, but a secluded beach in Northumberland has been earmarked as 'hidden gem' for people to visit this summer. And it's also emerged as great place
to go for a picnic as well. Now, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, CHRONICLELIVE are huge champions of Northumberland, very justifiably too, given that it's a region that
has an abundance of wonder locations and great sights to see. And, if a walk through rolling hills or around the ruins of an ancient castle isn't for you, chances are that you are more
suited to a trip to the beach, which is no bad thing if you find yourself in Northumberland, as there are plenty to choose from. To name just a few, visitors cam pay a visit to Bamburgh,
Beadnell and Embleton Bay, or if you are looking to do a bit more exploring and go to a place that is likely to be a lot quieter than those, Howdiemont Sands might just be the beach for you.
Chances are you probably haven't even heard of the beach, located between Boulmer and Howick, but it might be worth putting it to the top of your to do list, particularly if you fancy
more of a tranquil time of things. With it being off the beaten track and accessed by road via Longhoughton, there are no facilities at Howdiemont Sands, right next to Sugar Sands, so
you'd need to bear that in in mind if you're planning on staying a while. The Beach Guide describes Howdiemont Sands, also known as Longhoughton Beach, as 'a lovely remote
beach made up of sand, shingle and rocks.' JOIN OUR WHATSAPP COMMUNITIES ChronicleLive is now on WhatsApp and we want you to join our communities. We have a number of communities to

beach is an excellent spot to explore rock pools, fish, or take a peaceful walk in a picturesque setting. It is also known for providing first-rate fishing opportunities.'
