Pulte Homes, the No. 3 U.S. home builder, said after markets closed Tuesday that it expects to report a second-quarter loss from continuing operations in the range of $2.00 to $2.10, and

said new orders were down 20 percent from a year earlier. Pulte said the quarterly loss would include charges in the range of $740 million to $770 million on a pre-tax basis, or $1.85 to

$1.92 per share on an after-tax basis, related to impairments and lower land values.
