In 2010, invest in stocks that have international exposure. That was the advice from Jeff Krumpelman, lead manager of the dividend growth team at Hillard Lyons Capital Management, and Ken
Croft, CIO of Croft Value Fund. They shared their top stock picks for the new year with investors. CROFT’S RECOMMENDATIONS: _Cisco_—“It has all the right products for a modern global
economy, in that broadband usage will continue to increase,” Croft told CNBC. _Becton Dickinson_—“We think about 55 percent of their sales are overseas so they aren’t as affected by the
[health care] reform right now, but regardless, they’ve been a very strong grower and you’re able to get them at prices where you haven’t been able to get in the past,” he said of the firm.
_FMC Corp_—“They have number one market share in anything they do,” he said. “Herbicides and pesticides and agriculture is an area we like going forward for the long term.” KRUMPELMAN’S
RECOMENDATIONS: _Tiffany_—“The brand is very powerful,” Krumpelman said of the luxury retailer. “They’re growing internationally—they’re doing very well in Europe, and also in Asia, ex-Japan
part of the world.” _Accenture_— It has "a very balanced business model—it’s just crème de la crème within consulting,” he said. “It’s a cash flow machine—all of their assets are
intellectual capital, very few capital expenditure with fixed investment…We really like the return to shareholders, and cyclically, we liked what we saw coming out of the quarter.”
