car in countries outside of the EU, UK and Switzerland. I have had three holidays in the US during the last 15 years and have never had a problem hiring a car with just my French driving
licence. Read more: Can I exchange my US driving licence for a French one? Admittedly I was not aware of the potential need for an IDP but on no occasion was I asked if I had one in the US.
