45-year-old teacher admitted that he had made the whole thing up. On Monday morning he was admitted to hospital with superficial injuries to his neck and side and claimed that he had been
attacked by a knife-wielding man in his _maternelle_ classroom in Auberville, before the children were due to arrive. He said the man, supposedly dressed as a painter with gloves and a mask,
picked up a knife that he found in the classroom and and shouted: “This is for Daesh, it’s a warning.” Paris’s anti-terrorist section was brought into investigate due to the country’s high
level of alert. Children at the school were today being taught by a replacement teacher. One parent who described the teacher, who had worked at the school for 20 years, as “very important
to the life of the school” and a man “who would not tolerate impoliteness”.
