A woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a head-on collision in Coventry. It happened at the junction of Swan Lane and Walsgrave Road earlier today (Friday, May 12).
Ambulances were called to the scene in Ball Hill shortly before 10am. A Northamptonshire Air Ambulance Critical Care Car also attended, confirmed West Midlands Ambulance Service. Paramedics

workers secured both vehicles and towed them away. A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a two-car RTC at the junction of Swan Lane and
Walsgrave Road at 9.53am. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended the scene. “On arrival, we discovered four
patients. The driver of one of the cars, a woman, was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire. The remaining three
patients, two women and a man were all treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Warwick Hospital.” A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: “Shortly
after 9.55am this morning (Friday, May 12), we were called to a road traffic collision on Walsgrave Road, opposite the junction with Swan Lane, Coventry. “Two fire engines from fire stations
in Coventry and Binley responded, the first arriving within three minutes of being mobilised. Police and ambulance colleagues were also in attendance. “The incident involved a head-on
collision between two cars. Firefighters used cutting equipment to release a woman from one of the vehicles. “Four adults managed to get themselves out of the other vehicle. All five are
thought to have been taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire. Our crews made both vehicles and the scene safe, before leaving the scene just after 11.10am.” SIGN
