Nuneaton's hospital has ruled out a 'full merger' but massive change is on its way. Since 2018, the George Eliot Hospital has been part of a 'foundation group' with
South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust. But it remained autonomous organisation, with its own board, accountable with its own chairman. However, a Eliot hospital board paper has revealed
that work is underway towards 'closer formal collaboration' within the foundation. The intention is for this to take the form of a full single leadership team across the trusts.
But the hospital paper says "At this stage, a full merger of the organisations is not proposed." READ MORE: COUNCIL'S SHOCK U-TURN ON REVEALING NUNEATON HAMPTON-BY-HILTON

collaboration'. In a statement, a hospital spokesperson said: "The process is in its early stages, "It will impact the roles of the current Executive and Non-Executive team as
there will be a single Executive Team with responsibility for both SWFT and GEH (as well as shared Non-Executive roles). Both Trusts will remain separate legal entities with independent
budgets and performance reporting. We asked if the workforce locally would be impacted by the change. The hospital spokesperson said: "Bringing clinical services together is not the
intention of this change, and providing local services to our communities remains our priority." The proposal is set to be discussed at a public board meeting on Tuesday.
