popular trends that they believe will become 'embarrassing' in just five years time, including houses decorated in shades of grey. The lighthearted Mumsnet thread kicked off when
an anonymous British person said they believe wearing high-waisted trousers with crop tops and using lip liner will become cringeworthy trends. Following the revelation, they urged others to
share the 'overdone' thing that is 'popular now' but everyone will be embarrassed by in 'five years time' - with some of the responses including pampas grass,
cockapoo dogs and crushed velvet. Posting under the username Trulyatraditionalman, they wrote: 'What's one overdone thing that is popular now but everyone will embarrassed by in 5
years time? 'I'll start: High waisted trousers with crop tops, Lip liner that goes over the top of cupid's bow' RELATED ARTICLES They went on to add that they also
believe that 'crushed velvet' will quickly become an outdated trend, alongside using mirrors everywhere in homes. One person confessed that they believe lip fillers, or
'injected lips', will soon become a thing of the past, while another stayed along the beauty regime line as they claimed 'micro-blading' eyebrows will be
'embarrassing' in five years. Eyebrows proved to divide Mumsnet users as another person insisted that they also believe heavily pencilling over your eyebrows will soon become
unpopular. One person wrote: 'Yes, I think probably lip fillers too, and heavily microbladed eyebrows.' While another argued: 'Huge black slug eyebrows. Although that's
maybe happened already.' Elsewhere, one person bizarrely suggested that cockapoos were going to become an 'embarrassing' pet to own, leaving pet owners everywhere bitterly
disappointed. One person also suggested that decorating your house in a 'million' different shades of grey will not be popular for long, while another said young people dyeing
their hair grey was also a trend soon to die out. Floods of people were quick to say that TikTok is going to become old and embarrassing in five years time, despite everyone being
completely hooked on the social media site now. Another Mumsnet user insisted that candles in the shape of people's torsos were also set to go out of style, while another insisted
pampas grass decorations also fell under the same category. One person also took the opportunity to share their hatred for 'leggings', saying they make people's legs look
'stumpy' unless you are six-foot tall. They fumed: 'Leggings. If you are 6ft tall with legs up to your armpits you look fabulous. 'For everyone else it looks
ridiculous, just emphasises your rolls of fat and makes your legs look stumpy.' Other things that made it on to the list of embarrassing trends included chunky trainers, fake tanning,
cycling shorts, inflatable hot tubs and gin. But one person insisted that these popular trends were definitely not going to be in our past so soon, writing: 'I think it'll take
more than 5 years for some of these to shift!'
