By CAITLIN JINKS FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA Published: 05:51 EDT, 12 March 2015 | Updated: 11:05 EDT, 12 March 2015 Her infectious personality and bright smile won over Australia, with some

people dubbing her an honorary Aussie. But Maureen McCormick's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! journey has come to an end, with the former Brady Bunch star evicted from the

program on Thursday night's episode. After leaving the camp, the 58-year-old American actress revealed she almost left the show on the first night, and had 'a huge panic

attack' the day before embarking on her reality TV journey.  Scroll down for video  Upon hearing her name called during eviction, Maureen seemed shocked, yet happy. 'I'm so

excited to see my family,' she yelled, referring to her husband Michael Cummings and their 26-year-old daughter, Natalie Michelle. During her exit interview, the actress, who is known

for playing Marcia Brady, revealed that she had no idea what she was in for when she signed up for the show. 'In fact I had a huge panic attack the day before I came when I was

packing,' the former child star admitted. 'I went to my husband and said I think I've made a mistake honey, I don't think I should go but it was too late, but I had no

idea about anything this whole time.'  The screen star also said 'the first night was awful,' but former contestant Lauren Brant talked her out if it, although she 'was

ready to go.' But it looks like Maureen will have nothing but fond memories after getting a little emotional about her time on the show.  'This was such a great experience, I love

Australia, I love Australians, it has just been awesome,' she told hosts Doctor Chris Brown and comedienne Julia Morris. 'To be with such beautiful people, to do this was

incredible, I will remember it forever.' While on the show, Maureen ate an array of insects, dived in fish guts and swam in a pool full of animal faeces. She also walked across a thin

wire above a dam, was shot into the air like a slingshot and most notably, won over the campers and Australia audiences alike. 'I will have this with me forever and I think I will be

able to draw on it,' the beauty said. 'It was so exciting to live like this... I will truly enjoy camping now outside with my husband, he is such an outdoors man.' Three

campers are now left, with Chrissie Swam, Barry Hall and Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff the remaining contestants vying for the winner's crown. The grand final is set to air on

Channel Ten on Sunday evening. Earlier in the episode and before her eviction, Maureen got up close and personal with Englishman Freddie, 37. For a challenge, they were tied together and

asked to climb a giant artificial spider web, creating some awkward and intimate moments,  'No wandering hands, I'm a married man,' joked Freddie.   'Bet this didn't

happen on The Brady Bunch,' he continued, making light of their unusual encounter.  'No but it should have, maybe it would have made the show go for another 5 years,'

remarked Maureen, showing off her playful personality. The pair carefully crawled around the web together, grabbing tokens to complete the challenge while staying incredibly close.

'That's the most contact I've had for a long time,' revealed Freddie once the bizarre challenge was complete. 'Me too babe, me too,' responded Maureen.  The duo

won bread, butter and the Australian condiment, Vegemite, which has a rather salty taste. It was both their first time trying the staple, with Maureen falling in love with it instantly.

'I was a little scared but it's amazing, it's so good, I'm a Vegemite believer,' Maureen happily said. 'I will be using this on so many things, I think

it's incredible.' Sportsman Freddie also liked it, revealing he thought it 'was really good.' 'I really enjoyed it, I don't know what that says about me.'
