THE DUKE OF SUSSEX HAS REPORTEDLY CLAIMED THAT HE AND WIFE MEGHAN MARKLE WERE DENIED POLICE PROTECTION TO STOP THEM LEAVING THE ROYAL FAMILY. 22:00, 11 Apr 2025 Prince Harry has reportedly claimed that his security detail was withdrawn in an attempt to stop him and the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, leaving the UK and the Royal Family. It has also been reported that the moment the Duke of Sussex learned of this decision he found it "difficult to swallow" and hinted this bid was at the root of the rift that emerged with his father, King Charles. From the secret evidence given in court, Harry claimed that his "worst fears had been confirmed" and that this alleged treatment would be difficult to forgive, reports the Mirror. The prince reportedly believes that after himself and Meghan made the announcement that they would be stepping back from their royal duties, their taxpayer-funded security detail was removed in a move to make the couple stay in the UK. Outside the Royal Courts of Justice, the Duke of Sussex said: "We were trying to create this happy house." However, the couple are said to have viewed the security detail withdrawal as an alleged attempt to keep them both in the Royal Family, as well as the country. The Duke has taken legal action against the Home Office and has argued that the Royal and VIP Executive Committee have failed its policy. He also feels as though he had been singled out for "unjustified and inferior treatment".
