A VINTED SELLER HAS TAKEN TO TIKTOK TO GIVE HER TOP TIPS ON HOW TO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS NEW SCAM. 15:00, 31 May 2025 Vinted is a great app for people to use if they have unwanted clothing

or other household items that they never use. While a great way to clear out your home of random clutter, this app also allows users to earn an extra bit of money at the same time. While

some sellers have managed to make thousands on the app by selling their unwanted items, users should still be wary as there has been a rise in scammers on the app trying to find ways to get

their money back after making a purchase. One vinted seller has issued a warning to other app users as the new reported scam sees buyers "lying" about receiving their parcels,

reports the Express. In order to combat this, Chloe Chandler has shared to her 20,000 followers on TikTok her top tips while using the app to sell items, including one key packing method to

use and how to collect evidence of what has been sent. In the video, Chloe said: "There's a new scam on Vinted where buyers claim they haven't received what is supposed to be

inside the packet." Article continues below She claims that she has been inundated with messages from people telling her that they have been victims of the scam. The alleged scam

involves the buyer receiving the parcel, going to the app and then reporting an issue claiming that they have not received what they ordered - when they actually have. Chloe believes that

people are taking part in this scam in a bid to get their money back, as well as a free item. In order to tackle this scam, the vinted seller gave her viewers some advice. She said:

"Buyers need to be double wrapping an item and then sending it out - I cannot stress this enough. Make sure that you ship the items properly in good packaging and also make sure that

you photograph it. Make sure you have evidence." Sellers should take photographs and document every item before shipping as this creates proof of its condition and authenticity. This

means sellers can use this information to resolve any disputes if buyers claim any damage or misrepresentation. On top of this, sellers are advised to use tracking shipping as it enables the

seller to oversee the delivery process. These tips, as well as being alert against any schemes, will help sellers avoid losing their products and payments, while also helping them handle

any potential disputes. Victims of the scam took to the comment section of Chloe's video sharing their own experiences. One person said: "I had a customer take out my items worth

£50 bedding and blankets and put a beach towel in an open parcel and tried to claim I sent her a £4 beach towel but luckily I take photos of my parcel and make a video while packing it and

pictures when I put it in the locker so she didn’t get away with it." Sharing advice, another added: "I always take a photo of the item with the packaging and shipping label and

then again with it all packaged up and send that to the buyer as proof I've sent everything and packaged it correctly." A third person also commented: "It's crazy that we

have to go to these lengths not to get scammed." Vinted also has the Buyer Protection tool to help buyers resolve any disputes. If sellers come across a buyer who they believe is

intentionally lying, users can report them to Vinted's support team for review and potential action. The app's team have also said that if sellers are scammed or phished while

using the app, they should report it immediately. To do so, follow these steps: * Press 'contact us' on Vinted's website or app * Add screenshots of the messages or email *

Users should also include the username or profile link of the Vinted member, photographs of the item before shipping, shipping confirmation and tracking information. Article continues below
