SALLY WAS FILMING WITH LEE MACK WHEN SHE EXPERIENCED EXTREME PAIN IN HER STOMACH. 15:54, 03 Jun 2025 Beyond Paradise star Sally Bretton was on the set of BBC comedy Not Going Out with
co-star Lee Mack, when she had to halt filming to go to hospital. The 45 year old was "in pain" while recording the sitcom in front of a live studio audience when she had to dash
for treatment. Lee, who portrays a fictionalised version of himself opposite Sally's character Lucy, recounted how the "as live" filming was disrupted when Sally had to go to
leave abruptly. The hospital dash occurred during filming for an episode that featured jokes about failing to get tickets for an Oasis reunion tour. In a conversation with The Mirror, Lee
said: "There was a moment in that Oasis episode when we were filming it, when Sally said to me - she looked a bit in pain, 'Do you know what appendicitis feels like?'"
"I said, 'I have no idea, but I can tell you now you haven't got appendicitis, otherwise you wouldn't be here filming'. The next day, she had her appendix out."

latest series pays tribute to the late Bobby Ball, who played Lee's father until his passing in 2020. Lee fondly remembered: "We all miss him a lot. He was like me, he wasn't
from an acting background - so whatever I'm like in a studio, he was 50 times worse. The director would have to tell him not to keep looking at the audience every time he cracked a
joke." He expressed fond nostalgia, admitting: "When we look back, Sally and I do get a bit emotional. "We've been in the show a long time and there are different eras of
it, especially when you look at all the people from the past who have been in the show and come and gone." When the 14th series was announced at the BBC's comedy festival in
Glasgow, a thrilled Mack said: "Once again I'm very grateful that the BBC have trusted in us to keep alive the studio sitcom. I grew up watching this genre of sitcom on the BBC,
and to be part of it myself is still a dream come true, even after 18 years of doing it. Here we go again..." Jon Petrie, the BBC's comedy chief, couldn't hide his delight:
"Not Going Out remains one of the UK's most cherished sitcoms, a true testament to the exceptional comedic talents of Lee and his team. The show's consistent success and
popularity speak volumes, and we are beyond chuffed about its return." This sitcom has not only become the longest-running currently on air but also ranks among the UK's all-time
longest-running sitcoms, trailing just behind My Family, Birds of a Feather, and Last of the Summer Wine. Article continues below NOT GOING OUT RETURNS ON JUNE 9 ON BBC ONE. JOIN THE DAILY
