Showbiz Editor 16:04, 03 Jun 2025Chloe Madeley and James Haskell were married for five years before their split James Haskell has opened up on his sad split from wife Chloe Madeley. The

former rugby star and the daughter of This Morning icons Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan decided to go their separate ways in 2023, one year after welcoming their daughter, Bodhi.

Despite their split, they continue to co-parent little Bodhi. However, James has revealed that he could have tried harder in his relationship with Chloe, citing his drinking as one of the

reasons why they split.

‌ Conceding that his love of alcohol contributed to the break up of their marriage, James described the former couple's final year together as a "difficult period", writes The Mirror.

‌ Speaking to the Mail, he said: "If I put more time into my marriage than I did Guinness, then I wouldn’t be divorced now.

“It’s one of those things in life where some things don’t work out, but I have so much love for my daughter and Chloe. It’s teamwork.

dated advertising executive Helen Barclay and Big Brother star Sara McLean, 35, earlier this year.

‌ The 38-year-old said that his dating life is on the back burner at the moment, insisting his priority is "being the best dad in the best order".

Chloe is also currently single but has vowed to stay that way and focus on their daughter.

She has spoken openly about the harsh reality of her split, describing the last year of her marriage with James as "one of the worst periods of my life". The TV star is not yet back on the

dating scene, having remained single since their split.

‌ A fan asked her on Instagram: "What do you look for in a guy??" Chloe replied: "I don't [laughing emoji] I'm very happily committed to being and staying single [upside down smiley face

After James was papped with Sara at the Cheltenham Festival, the personal trainer took to social media to share a very cryptic post.

Chloe shared a video of a sheep running around with a giant bucket covering its head with the caption: "Me. It's so nice in here". Subtitles for the audio were placed over the clip, which

read: "She's at a place in her life where peace is a priority and negativity cannot exist. She is no longer matching energy."

Article continues below "She is simply removing herself from any situation that doesn't vibrate her soul. So if you start moving funny, she's moving on."

Chloe later returned to her Stories to say she has been "happier than I've been in years and I'm not emotionally involved in any way, shape or form with anyone else's love life".
