CHLOE PINK, 25, MARRIED HER CHILDHOOD SWEETHEART, NORTH MELBOURNE DEFENDER TOBY PINK, 26, IN A SMALL REGISTRY OFFICE CEREMONY - BUT TROLLS SOON BOMBARDED HER WITH CRUEL TAUNTS VINCE SOODIN
Assistant Editor (Digital) and SWNSGEORGEJONES (GEORGE JONES) 19:02, 30 May 2025 A plus-sized bride was cruelly mocked by online trolls for being "too fat" for her AFL hunk hubby -
with some even saying she looked like a "fridge" in her white gown. Chloe Pink, 25, and her childhood sweetheart, North Melbourne's own Toby Pink, 26, have been an item for
seven years before finally saying 'I do' in March 2025. The resource manager, who battles PCOS, has always had a bit of a rollercoaster ride with her weight but was buzzing to
become a bride when the footie star popped the question in October 2024. Opting for a low-key vibe, the lovebirds went for a "wanted a secret ceremony" at their local registry
office in Melbourne. Chloe, rocking a UK size 16, splashed out AUD $30,000 on the nuptials, including a cool AUD $3,000 on a bespoke dress and a cosy reception and dinner bash for their 28
nearest and dearest, setting them back AUD $300 a head. Article continues below The 25 year old lass labelled the day as "magical" and gushed it was "the first time" she
truly felt stunning. But once the wedding snaps hit the web, the couple were swamped with nasty jibes, mainly targeting Chloe's figure, with haters branding her "pig" and
"a fridge" and sniping that she's "too fat for her athlete beau". Chloe, hailing from Millicent, Australia, clapped back, saying, "Being married to a
professional athlete does not give anyone the right to comment on my body or size. "My weight is influenced by underlying health conditions, though frankly, that's no one's
business. "And it shouldn't matter either way. "But the comments were just vile, and for about a week, I was a completely different version of myself. "Thankfully, my
husband has been incredibly supportive, and I've come out stronger." Chloe and Toby have been inseparable since childhood and finally said their vows in March 2025 after a
seven-year romance. "He'd always tell everyone I was his girlfriend when we were younger," Chloe reminisced. "And eventually, when Toby went away to boarding school, we
were calling every day and decided to give it a go. "We've never looked back since, and honestly, when he got down on one knee, I couldn't have been happier." The
lovebirds exchanged vows at their local registry office, which suited the 25 year old who prefers to keep things low-key. "We didn't want anything massive," she added.
"The registry office was perfect and small. "But we decided that we couldn't have the big day without a reception or an evening dinner. "So kept telling more people about
our wedding each day. "And everyone had the greatest time, it was euphoric." Chloe remembered how she only gave her guests two months' notice before the big day - and even
texted her WAG group chat, including her closest mates, that she was getting hitched as she was walking down the aisle. "The day was a dream come true," she gushed. "I walked
down the aisle in a custom white gown by d'Italia, feeling the most beautiful I had ever felt. "It was a very emotional day, and it felt like I was wrapped in a bubble of
love." Chloe remembered: "I was confident there was nothing that could ruin it." But just a week later, the newlyweds posted their wedding snaps on Instagram for a local
feature about their big day. That's when the floodgates of cruel comments opened, slamming Chloe's physical appearance. "I sat down and read the online comments, and I just
burst into tears," she shared. "Around 80 per cent of them were negative, and even before I posted them, it never crossed my mind that I looked fat." One heartless troll
jeered: "Did he marry a fridge?". "AFL player by day, pig hunter by night," another sniped. "Did he marry an NRL prop forward?" a third stranger chimed in. The
footy WAG confessed to spending "three days" in tears after trolls savaged her wedding photos online. "The hate was mainly from older men, which I thought was
disgusting," Chloe said. "They ripped apart everything from my body to how 'plain' my dress was. "And they thought my husband deserved so much better." Fearing
people would recognise her husband, who signed with North Melbourne Football Club as a delisted free agent in 2023 and debuted as a defender the following year, she felt "very
watched" and "insecure". "Even grocery shopping, I'd tell him to avoid buying anything sugary in case people thought it was for me," she added. "Everyone
treats WAGS like objects, expecting them to be a size six, which I'm not." Reflecting on her past, Chloe said: "I felt like I had to live a certain way and do particular
things to avoid the hate, which, now looking back is so wrong." She added: "I never had an issue with the way I look and I am healthy." Fortunately, some of the more vile
comments have been removed from the internet, and Chloe expressed her gratitude for the support of her loved ones and her husband, who has boosted her confidence. Determined not to let the
trolls bring her down, Chloe noted that a positive outcome of the abuse is the numerous women who have reached out to reassure her that there's nothing wrong with her appearance.
"I've come out stronger than I was before," she stated. Chloe and her husband Toby believe it's essential for men to speak out against such behaviour when they witness it
among their peers. "My husband loves me and is attracted to me." she said. "No matter what anyone else says, I know our love is real." Article continues below She
asserted: "And no one should be commenting on my body and saying otherwise."
