THE YOUNG SPIDER MONKEY HAS NOW BEEN PLACED WITH OAKLAND ZOO AND NAMED VIOLETA, AFTER SHE WAS DISCOVERED, ALONG WITH TWO RATTLESNAKES AND A STASH OF DRUGS FOLLOWING A TRAFFIC STOP 19:08, 17

May 2025 Police seized a baby spider monkey, rattlesnakes and $26,000 (£19.5K) worth of methamphetamines, after a traffic cop pulled over a car. Officers in Vallejo, a city in the San

Fransisco Bay area California, pulled over a driver, Clifford Vincenty, on May 6, as part of a traffic stop. Police found half a pound of methamphetamine on searching the car. Cops hauled

Vincenty, 50, down to the cop shop and charged him with possession of a controlled substance for sale. The Solano County Sheriff’s Enforcement Team then secured a warrant for the Vallejo

resident’s home, where officers made the bizarre bust. Upon searching Vincenty’s home, cops found a pound of methamphetamine worth roughly $26,000 in street value, a live young spider

monkey, two rattlesnakes and $2000 win cash (£1,500). The animals were removed by Animal Control for evaluation. The spider monkey, a critically endangered species, was later placed in the

care of Oakland Zoo. Article continues below A statement from the Solano County Sheriff's Office said: “The Solano County Sheriff’s Office has made a significant drug-related arrest

following a traffic stop and subsequent search warrant that uncovered a large quantity of methamphetamine worth approximately $26,000 street value, and the discovery of additional

contraband, cash, and exotic animals. “On 05/06/25, Solano County Sheriff’s Deputies from Patrol Team 3 conducted a traffic stop in the unincorporated area of Vallejo, resulting in the

seizure of approximately half a pound of methamphetamine and the arrest of Clifford Vincenty, a 50-year-old Vallejo resident. Vincenty was taken into custody without incident and charged

with possession of a controlled substance for sale. “The following day, Solano County Vice Detectives and the Solano County Sheriff’s Enforcement Team (SET) served a search warrant at

Vincenty’s residence in Vallejo. The search yielded an additional pound of methamphetamine, more than $2,000 cash, a live spider monkey, and two live rattlesnakes. Animal Control safely

removed the animals and were being evaluated for proper care. The Spider Monkey was later placed in the Oakland Zoo with the help of CA Fish and Wildlife.” The statement added that Vincenty

faces addition charges including possession of a controlled substance for sale and potential violations related to the possession of exotic animals. Article continues below Since being

re-homed in the Oakland Zoo, the spider monkey has been renamed Violeta. A medical placed her age around 18 months. Spider monkeys generally nurse for the first two years of life in the

wild, and hang around their mothers until they are aged 4. It is illegal to own primate as pets in California. _FOR THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS AND STORIES FROM ACROSS THE GLOBE FROM THE DAILY
