Multiple people have been stabbed during a horror incident at a popular British holiday destination.


Emergency services were called to Fanny Blankers Koenlaan in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands, in the early hours this morning around 6am after calls of a stabbing. It is also known that a police


officer was rushed to hospital, with blood visible on the car. Police said in a statement on X: "We received a report of a stabbing incident at Fanny Blankers-Koenlaan in Purmerend around


6:00 AM.


"There are multiple victims, including a colleague. Multiple ambulances and the MMT are on site. PD has been set up. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. More later."


Two people have died in the stabbing this morning where there were multiple people injured, according to unconfirmed reports by the Mirror.


It has been confirmed that a police helicopter was deployed to the scene after an officer was seriously injured. The local force did say that an officer was injured and sources told the


Dutch news agency ANP that two people died in the stabbing incident, but this has not yet been confirmed by the police.


At the moment, details from the scene are largely unknown, but the police have taped off the area and are starting an investigation into the incident. It is thought that some people are


injured due to the stabbings.


Photos show multiple ambulances are at the scene, while a police cordon remains in place. According to local media, one of the police cars at the scene was found "smeared with blood,"


although it has not been confirmed by who.


Multiple ambulances and two trauma teams arrived and took the injured police officer to hospital, emergency services said.


Currently, social media posts show multiple police cars and ambulances arriving to and blocking off streets, with some driving onto the path for a more direct entrance to the horror scenes.


Sirens are blaring in the background, as passersby are being redirected away from the incident.
