For most clubs, winning the FA Cup would represent a successful season. A trophy sitting proudly in the cabinet. The oldest and most historical one in club football, no less. But Manchester

City are not 'most clubs'. The deposed English champions have been the most dominant force in domestic football in the last decade. Sweeping all before them, while scooping up

silverware for fun. Some would argue Pep Guardiola's side have been the greatest ever in English football. So the prospect of finishing a campaign with just the FA Cup to show, would be

nothing for them to boast about. At risk of sounding disrespectful to the competition, City deal in the currency of Premier League and Champions League titles. Something like the FA Cup is

the pitch. There will be a lap of honour as well, no doubt. But deep down, all those connected to City will party with heavy hearts. Safe in the knowledge that nothing can truly make amends

for the previous eight months of pain and pitiful performances. Winning the FA Cup would mean the world to Palace. But it would feel hollow to City. It wouldn't change a thing.
