LIVERPOOL AND CRYSTAL PALACE TOOK PART IN A DOUBLE GUARD OF HONOUR ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON AS RIVAL FANS BLASTED THE "UTTER WOKE NONSENSE" ON THE FINAL DAY OF THE PREMIER LEAGUE 16:35,
25 May 2025 Liverpool and Crystal Palace were in the party mood on Sunday afternoon - as they celebrated their respective titles. The Reds had wrapped up the Premier League last month, and
have been able to take their foot off the pedal in the final weeks of the season. Meanwhile, Palace stunned the footballing world last weekend when they beat Manchester City at Wembley to
win the FA Cup - their first ever major honour. And, as is customary for the Premier League champions, Liverpool were clapped onto the pitch by the Palace players in a guard of honour.
However, the Liverpool players then repaid the favour. The action was met with a huge cheer inside Anfield, but rival fans, taking to social media, slammed the act as "woke".
"Double guard of honour should be the dictionary definition of utter woke nonsense," one fan fumed. While a second said: "Double guard of honour, what’s this woke
rubbish!" "Double guard of honour," a third fan shared with an "utter woke nonsense" meme. While another also shared the meme, that uses a photo of Sean Dyche, with
an angry emoji. However, one Liverpool fan saw the funny side: "Double guard of honour, we're taking the p***!" DON'T MISS A THING WITH FOOTBALL UPDATES! Want to be on

anything on the line for either team on Sunday - with Liverpool fans all ready for the trophy lift, the first time in the Premier League era in front of fans, after the full-time whistle.
And even an opener from Ismaila Sarr couldn't dampen the spirts of the Reds fans. Article continues below Ashley Williams said on Final Score: "It's really sloppy from
Liverpool. "Conor Bradley gives the ball away and Virgil van Dijk is out of position on the left hand side and he doesn't have the chance to get back due to the speed of the
Crystal Palace passing."
