May 2025Updated 16:50, 28 May 2025 Love Island is set to sizzle on our screens once again. The popular ITV2 dating programme will be back in action on Monday, 9th June, at 9pm. Host Maya
Jama will be rolling out the welcome mat for a fresh crop of singletons at the renowned villa in Majorca. Hot on the heels of All Stars earlier this year, the new cast will be on a quest for
love. ITV dropped the news on Wednesday, 28 May, urging fans: "Mark your calendar, you're invited to this year's hottest meeting. Time: June 9th, 9pm. Venue: Your sofa (via
ITV2/ITVX). Agenda: Initial coupling, strategic navigation of red flags, and identification of potential long-term partnerships #LoveIsland." On 19 May, the Love Island Instagram
account stirred up excitement with a cryptic post captioned: "100% our type on paper", featuring a video of a printer spitting out a note reading "Attention: Love Island is
coming soon. Attendance mandatory". Maya, who cheekily dubbed herself the "CEO of love" on the printout, signed off the teaser, reports OK!. In their official announcement,
ITV stated: "The OG dating show returns as a fresh batch of singletons prepare for the summer of a lifetime in the ultimate search for love. "Maya Jama will preside over all of the
in-villa action as the class of 2025 get set for all of the twists and turns the Island has to offer, from bombshell arrivals to surprise dumpings. "Series 12, which celebrates a
decade since the show first hit screens in 2015, comes hot off the heels of Love Island All Stars, which quickly became one of the most streamed series in the show's history - the show
has also become the most watched programme for 16-34 year olds on over 400 occasions." Previously speaking about the upcoming twelfth series in a TikTok video, Maya said: "I'm
really excited guys, the sun is out, summer Love Island is about to happen. "They released a little advert, they haven't even done the real advert yet. I can smell it in the air,
a bunch of new cuties are about to enter that villa. Your 9pm's will be gone, you will be locked in, you will stan, ship - and all these other new words - the couples that are about to
enter." Within the video Maya also gave viewers a major update about Aftersun, sharing that it will return this year to the delight of fans. "Aftersun's back... I just got a
really big wave of excitement," she confirmed. Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan won Love Island last year but sadly split after two months of being together. Mimii announced the breakup
on her Instagram, stating that they "have been trying to figure it out since leaving the villa but unfortunately things aren't going to work out between us right now". Article
