Sidney Kimmel Entertainment has hired Mark O’Connor as EVP Production, bringing over the veteran from his previous post as a senior exec at Todd Phillips’ Warner Bros-based Green Hat Films.

The former CAA agent, whose career includes stints at Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video, 20th Century Fox and Scott Rudin Productions, will report to SKE Production President Carla Hacken. In

his new role, O’Connor will be involved in all SKE film and TV projects.

At Green Hat since 2009, O’Connor worked on such projects as Nima Nourizadeh’s found-footage comedy Project X and War Dogs, directed by Phillips and starring Jonah Hill and Miles Teller.

Films he has worked on include Mean Girls, Night At The Museum and Reno 911!: Miami.

“Mark is an incredibly smart, creative, and passionate executive that I have known and admired for years,” Hacken said. “His creative insights and eye for material and talent are why he is

one of the most respected people in the industry and we are thrilled that he’s joining us at this exciting time at SKE, as we expand our production slate in both film and television.”

SKE is next up with Demolition, its co-production with Black Label Media that stars Jake Gyllenhaal. It will bow Friday via Fox Searchlight.
