How to submit a guest commentary

The Denver Post will consider guest commentary submissions of 650 words or fewer. Send them to [email protected], along with a high-resolution photo of the author and a short

biographical paragraph.

We favor columns on public policy, social issues and current news, and give preference to local and regional writers and issues.

The material must be the author’s original work, and contain sources and attributions when appropriate. We cannot consider pieces that have already appeared in other publications, either

online or in print.

Individual writers are limited to one guest commentary contribution every three months to ensure a wide range of views on our pages.

We do not publish organizational statements, business pitches or political campaign promotions as guest commentaries.

We reserve the right to edit columns for style, grammar, length, taste, libel and general readability, although our goal is to preserve the writer’s voice.

Writers retain the rights to their work after publication.

We do not pay stipends for guest commentaries.
