’boutique patrick roger’ by XTU architects, paris, franceimage © luc boegly XTU ARCHITECTS HAD THE TASK OF MANIFESTING AN ARCHITECTURAL SPACE THAT CAPTURED THE CORE OF CHOCOLATIER PATRICK
ROGER. his edible sculptures explore the delicious material as a medium of state change. as chocolate changes from solid to liquid and emits a powerful encompassing aroma, so the
architecture materializes the sculptural tubes of confectionary delight. the workshop is characterized by an interior skin of metal tubes that seek to express the voluptuous taste of
chocolate while abstracting the sinuous form of the stretched delicacy. an interior envelope of metal tubes references the chocolate sculptor’s interest in state change while allowing the
aroma of the delicacy to pervade the spaceimage © luc boegly detail view of the metal skinimage © luc boegly stair views show the chocolate forms interacting with the tectonic palette image
