The PAN card will become inoperative if one failed to link it with their Aadhaar card Today, having an Aadhaar identity is arguably the most important identification that is used by
everyone. Aadhaar ID is needed for almost all official work, and for our day-to-day activities. Given this, Aadhaar needs to keep updated and linked with other forms of identification such
as PAN. The central government has made it compulsory for individuals to link their Aadhaar card with their PAN, and if failed to do so before the deadline, the PAN card will become
inoperative. Linking your PAN with Aadhaar is not a heavy task but a simple procedure that can be done in minutes online. If you have not linked your Aadhaar with PAN, follow the
step-by-step guide below to do the same process online: - Go to the portal of Income Tax e-filling, https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/ - Go to the 'Link Aadhaar' in the Quick
Links section - Enter your PAN and Aadhaar number - Enter your name as mentioned in your Aadhaar card - If you have linked your number in Aadhaar, enter that and verify the same via an OTP.
If your number is linked and only your date of birth is mentioned, tick the square box against 'I have only year of birth in Aadhaar card' - Tick mark ‘I agree to validate my
Aadhaar details with UIDAI’ - Enter the Captcha Code for verification - Select the 'Link Aadhaar' button - Now, a pop-up will appear saying you have successfully linked your
Aadhaar with PAN card. You can also link your Aadhaar with PAN through an SMS. Send text, "UIDPAN (Space) you 12-digit Aadhaar (space) your 10-digit PAN" from your registered
number to either 567678 or 56161.
