Snapchat has recently hired more than 50 hardware engineers and designers as well. Popular photo-sharing mobile service Snapchat may have plans to offer a brand new Android smartphone to the
world. A California-based marketing firm Mediakix unveiled a concept handset equipped with a 360-degree camera and buttons that lets users scroll through filters along with a one touch
capture function for easy sharing too. According to a report by DAILYMAIL, Snapchat recently hired nearly 50 hardware engineers and product designers. This hints at the fact that the
company, Snap Inc., parent company Snapchat, is looking beyond being just a camera app. In terms of features, the device might also include a lock screen that allows users to swipe for
Snapchat notifications and updates, messaging, and syncing with Spectacles. Reportedly, it may also pack in the ‘Discover’ screen that combines GPS and maps, Snapchat Stories, and
advertisements. This concept phone will also would also allow third-party apps to be integrated into the phone's messaging service. “Snapchat was the first mobile app that
revolutionized photo and video messaging,” Jeremy Shih, who does marketing for Mediakix, told DailyMail. Recently, the company also introduced some new changes to the app which is said to
make it easier to navigate the app with a universal search which is accessible at the top of the app.
