The FIH has called on the hockey turf, footwear, ball manufacturers and suppliers to come up with an alternative which will provide a similar playing quality as today but without having to

water the pitch any longer.     The FIH believe that hockey can contribute to a more sustainable environment by stopping the watering of pitches.  The objective is that the alternative is

found by 2024.
