reduced Ganderton’s penalty on the most serious of two charges to a 12-month ban, with half the penalty suspended on condition that he does not offend again in the next two years.
A second nine-month disqualification on a lesser charge was reduced to six months.
With both penalties to be served concurrently, the total disqualification period is six months and Ganderton, who did not apply for a stay of proceedings, can resume training on July 22.
The positive swab was returned by Set For Tea at Spreyton last September.
Ganderton argued at his appeal that his original penalty was excessive and not in line with penalties imposed elsewhere in Australia for similar drug offences when there has been no finding
of deliberate intent.
