to the semi-final stage of last season’s inaugural competition and have drafted in wicketkeeper-batter Georgia Redmayne from New South Wales.
“Most of our players haven’t been overseas this year so they have done a pretty good preseason… aside from our practice games being washed out in the past couple of weeks,” Price said.
“We are a little bit stronger than last year and coming third was obviously a big deal so hopefully we can go one better this year.
“We have to adapt fast to certain situations in games… we get a little stuck if someone is a little unorthodox or something unexpected happens.”
The signings of international all-rounders Hayley Matthews and Amy Satterthwaite were announced on Monday.
England international Heather Knight will again captain the side who first play Perth Scorchers at North Sydney Oval on December 10.
The Hurricanes will battle Sydney Thunder at Launceston’s Aurora Stadium on Thursday, January 5, which Price said was good news for Northern Tasmania.
SQUAD SO FAR: Julie Hunter, Veronica Pyke, Heather Knight, Erin Burns, Corinne Hall, Emma Thompson, Brooke Hepburn, Katelyn Fryett, Meg Phillips, Sasha Moloney, Celeste Raack, Georgia
