Dynasty Chinese, located next to Brickfields Park on Canning Street, offers a Chinese dining experience in traditional imperial surrounds.  

When you enter Dynasty Chinese, you will be drawn back in time by the traditional Chinese decor.

“Our restaurant is the one and only,” Dynasty’s owner, Rennie Wong said. 

“We have many patrons from China that are in awe of our interior because they have not seen such traditional features even in China.” 

Rennie describes himself as a proud “Launcestonian”, he is heavily involved in the running of the local Chinese church and is living his dream of running a Chinese restaurant in Launceston. 

This year Dynasty is celebrating 18 years of business in Launceston, Rennie has attributed the success of the business to his staff and most importantly the chef. 

We have many patrons from China that are in awe of our interior because they have not seen such traditional features even in China.

in Tasmania,” he said. 

Chef Yongbing Li, or simply “Li” has more than 30 years of experience and has worked at some of China’s exclusive five-star hotels. 

An accomplished chef and pastry chef, Li makes a full range of dumplings and dim sims by hand. 

Chef Li said that he “Cooks with heart” and enjoys teaching others to master each dish on the menu whether traditional or modern 

Dynasty offers a full range of traditional dishes such as twice cooked pork, Peking duck, seafood, but also local favourites such as honey chicken, sweet and sour pork. 

“Chef Li is big on using healthy oils only and we do not use MSG in our dishes, we are just so lucky to have him,” Rennie said. 

“Li brings traditional tastes using modern and healthy ingredients sourced locally.

“I don’t know where we would be without our super chef.

“He masters dishes makes pastries and trains our staff.”
