making the Australian classic since 2012, with current part-owner Simon Harris saying it was time to move on.

“We are in a partnership and their lives have changed and they’re wanting to get out and our lives have changed as well,” he said.

“The brand ‘Tinnies’ is pretty big and the product itself is very good, so most people know it and understand it, and that’s worth quite a bit.”

Mr Harris said the business had been on the market for about two weeks.

“We’ve had four or five people interested. We’ve got four from the mainland and one local.”

He said the brand was a success because of its focus on Tasmanian produce.

“We use Tasmanian where ever we can, it’s all handmade on the premise. We make all our own pastry here every morning so it’s nice and fresh,” Mr Harris said.

The team will pass their knowledge onto the new owners before stepping aside. Tinnies is for sale through Shepherd and Heap.
