believe the upcoming federal election is the most important federal election in our nation's history.

IPCC report has clearly stated we are on the edge of climate catastrophe.
This report was authored by hundreds of the world's best climate scientists with no political affiliation and who are conservative by nature.
They have told us this point in history is a cod red for humanity and we face irreversible climate disaster if we don't take this precious short window to act.
In lutruwita/Tasmania the cost of not acting means increased extreme weather events causing chaos for our farmers, marine heatwaves wreaking havoc on our oceans and the livelihoods that
depend on them and more extreme bushfires threatening our communities.
This is a code red election for humanity.
But despair does nothing to help the climate.
We need to galvanise around this moment. We need to listen to science and we need to act.
The upcoming federal election is our best chance to throw out the LNP and take the action that's needed to fight for the future of our planet.
Over the weekend I had the absolute pleasure of formally announcing our Greens candidates for lutruwita/Tasmania in the upcoming federal election.
From an environmental lawyer, doctor and climate scientist to a counsellor, young small business owner, climate activist and computer programmer, I truly believe our Greens candidates are
the best candidates possible for such a historic election.
We can't afford another four years of LNP climate denial, delay and dysfunction.
For almost a decade I've been a voice in the Senate for Tasmanians who care about the environment, particularly our precious marine environment.
But I've got unfinished business in the Senate; improving our waste and recycling laws, banning seismic testing off our coastlines and protecting magnificent forests like takayna from being
pillaged and privatised by this government and their greedy big corporate donors.
I'm also committed to helping lutruwita/Tasmania realise what moving beyond zero COVID looks like.
While our state's premier has committed to a 90 per cent vaccination rate before removing COVID restrictions, Tasmania's Liberal senate candidates have been silent on Scott Morrison's
national plan to remove restrictions at 70 per cent.
This begs the questions, are they with the premier or the prime minister?
What moving beyond zero COVID looks like is an incredibly important community discussion our political leaders need to lead.
Just a small swing in the Green vote could mean there is every chance that we Greens may hold the balance of power in the upcoming federal election, as we did in 2010.
This will present a critical chance to put Australia back on track to a renewable energy future, to tax the greedy big corporations and build back greener and fairer from COVID.
In a code red election, you vote Green.
