The widow of Dr Michael Mosley, a beloved TV doctor known for his appearances on programmes such as The One Show, has shared her final moments with him in her first interview since his
unexplained death. Michael tragically passed away during a holiday on the Greek island of Symi in June last year. The 67 year old disappeared after going for a walk and his body was found
days later following extensive search efforts. Dr Clare Bailey Mosley has now recounted the events of that fateful day when they arrived on Symi by ferry on the evening of 4th June to stay
with friends at their villa. She said: "We'd only been there for half a day before it happened." After settling in, reading their books and taking a swim in the pool, Michael
"got bored" as he wasn't enjoying his book and didn't like spending time on the beach. "So he said, 'I'm going exploring. I'm off for a walk," Dr
Clare remembered, noting that she gave her husband her bottle of water and he had an umbrella to protect him from the sun. The bereaved woman said her late husband left the villa at 1.30pm
after receiving "instructions on where to walk" and "set off at a good pace, his rucksack on his back, up a steep hill.", reports the Mirror. Clare mentioned that Michael
didn't bring his phone with him as he "didn't want to risk it getting wet on the boat." Recounting their final farewell, Clare shared: "It was just an ordinary
exchange of words as he went off for his walk. Very banal. I don't think there was even a kiss." While Michael embarked on his walk, Clare and her friend enjoyed the afternoon at
the beach before heading home - it was then they realised her husband hadn't returned. "When we got there and found that Michael wasn't back we were concerned. Had he walked
directly, he'd have been there in under an hour," Clare told the Daily Mail. "Feeling things weren't right, we went to the police station and reported him missing."
However, they were informed that the police couldn't take any action until 48 hours had passed since his disappearance - this increased Clare's worry as temperatures had soared to
40C. "I had to push really hard, but finally they agreed to get a local search-and-rescue team out," Clare said. Michael's body was eventually discovered on June 9. In
December 2024, a coroner recorded an open conclusion regarding the cause of his death. Senior coroner for Buckinghamshire, Crispin Butler, stated Dr Mosley's death was classified as
"indeterminate" and most likely due to heatstroke or a non-identified pathological cause. In his official statement, Mr Butler noted that a medical cause for the doctor's
death was undetermined, with neither homicide, suicide, nor accident tied to injuries being factors. He recorded: "No medical cause of death could be ascertained, meaning Michael's
death may have been due to a medical event or as a result of a non-traumatic accident." Clare fondly remembered her late husband, calling him "a maverick, a bit of a
risk-taker." She expressed her feelings about Michael saying: "He pushed boundaries. I loved him for that; it made him so special. He was unorthodox and just so brilliant." Dr
Jack Mosley reflected on the loss of his father earlier this year, expressing pride in his late parent's accomplishments and considering one aspect of his mourning to have been
"bittersweet". In a conversation with The Times preceding the upcoming anniversary of Michael's passing, Jack discussed his father's influential life — a man who
dispensed weight-loss advice among other guidance in his profession — whilst also introducing his new publication, Food Noise: How Weight Loss Medications and Smart Nutrition Can Silence
Your Cravings. During the said discussion, Jack shared that he had only recently listened to Michael's broadcast Just One Thing on BBC Radio 4. The highly acclaimed series, which was
turned into a television programme last year, saw Michael providing "simple tips" aimed at helping listeners "change your life". _GET ALL THE LATEST MONEY NEWS SENT

to his Just One Thing series And obviously that's been bittersweet." He expressed that the "whole reason" Michael – known for programmes like Trust Me, I'm a Doctor
– remains a presence on radio, podcasts, and TV is "something to be proud of". In his homage, he recognised his late father as having "helped a lot of people lead better
lives." During the conversation, Jack, who is training to become a GP, continued to honour Michael's legacy. He described the celebrated broadcaster – who authored multiple
diet-related books – as "a maverick" and a "master self-experimenter". _GET ALL THE LATEST CELEBRITY AND TV NEWS STRAIGHT TO YOUR INBOX BY_ _ SIGNING UP TO OUR NEWSLETTER
